Access to care
Wait times for counselling and therapy can be long, especially for children and youth. In Ontario, it is common to have wait times of six months to one year (CMHO, 2016; Office of the Auditor General of Ontario, 2016). However, this depends on the person and their situation. If you are waiting for services, there are websites you can visit that provide ways to improve your mental health in the meantime.
60 per cent of people with a mental health problem won't seek help for fear of being labelled (MHCC, 2018a).
