Stats

Children who lived in lower-income families between age four to eight were nearly twice as likely to self-report depression in early adulthood.1

More than 40,000 Canadian children and youth experience homelessness every year, with more people who identify as Indigenous and LGBTQ+ represented in this group.2

Nearly half of the homeless youth in Canada have mental health and substance use challenges, and almost all experience serious psychological distress.3
