Mental health: Definitions and use of language

The topic of mental health is quite broad. In this tutorial, we use the umbrella term “mental health challenge” to refer to mental illness as well as poor mental health. This suggests that mental illness and mental wellness are not opposite ends of a spectrum, and that a diagnosis, or lack of diagnosis, does not define a person and their experiences.
