Trauma

How trauma might affect you

All of us react to traumatic events with a fight–flight–freeze survival response.1 We may react with anger, a knotted stomach, nausea, numbness, anxiety, restlessness, a trapped or threatened feeling, a pounding heart or crying.

Our ability to learn, sleep and make connections with others may be impacted by the trauma we face because after the trauma, our attention and energy is focused on surviving. If you are interested in more information on trauma, visit Trauma Recovery’s website.
