Improving your ability to cope with stress, including the stress caused by a family member’s mental health problem, is important. Being aware of the signs can help you cope and give you more resources to handle the stresses that result from having a relative with psychosis.

Try to be forgiving of yourself and remember that you will need to take care of yourself and reduce your own stress levels before you are able to take care of your relative and the rest of the family. Try to not allow your stressors to consume your entire life.
