Recovery: Challenges for the family

Recovery is slow and gradual. It is important to know that your family member needs to recover at their own pace. During the recovery of a loved one, you may:

feel that your loved one is emotionally unavailable
see your loved one having more difficulties coping
not like the speed or focus of recovery
    feel like you:
      are on a roller coaster
      are walking on eggshells
      are “in the dark.”
